Youth Program Fee Descriptions

Middle School Development

$225

Middle School rowing, for grades 5-8 (ages 10-13), is focused on fun and learning, as well as fitness two days per week. Athletes are taught the basics of the rowing stroke along with boat handling, terminology, and care of the equipment. Middle school rowers will be taught sculling (rowing with 2 oars) with an emphasis on developing boat feel and teamwork.
Fee does not include regatta fees or uniforms.

Youth Rowing

$425

Program fees include club dues and coaching fees. Items not included: Rocket City Rowing Racing kit (jersey, black rowing trou, RCRC spirit wear), or expenses associated with attending regattas

Youth Rowing (Coxswain)

$50

Program fee includes club dues and coaching fees. Items not included: Rocket City Rowing Racing kit (jersey, black rowing trou, RCRC spirit wear). Fee DO NOT include expenses associated with attending regattas.

Summer Youth Learn-to-Row Camps

Learn the fundamentals of the ultimate team sport

  • Basic sweep rowing techniques on ergometers (rowing machines) and in 8-person rowing shells
  • Boat and crew terminology
  • Overall physical conditioning, flexibility, and core strength
  • Water safety and safe boat handling techniques
  • Teamwork
  • Race Strategy

Camp Fee includes: 20 hours of instruction and exercise, camp t-shirt, snacks and lunch on Saturday, rowing through the rest of summer

Regatta Fees

$85 – $125

The costs associated with attending a regatta are not included in RCRC seasonal fees. These fees include regatta fees, boat transportation and maintenance costs, lunch and snacks during the regatta and hotel expenses when necessary to meet the regatta schedule.

Team Parties and Events

Time to celebrate the end of the rowing season and all we have learned together. Buffet meal at Mandarin House in Hampton Cove. No fee for athletes; nominal fee for other attendees (parents, siblings, and other guests).

Supplemental Registration Forms  

The three registration forms listed below are required to be filled out on an annual rather than a seasonal basis. The forms need to be printed in hard copy, completed as required, and provided to the RCRC Youth Program Director to complete the registration process. Questions regarding these documents may be directed to the Junior Head Coach or Junior Program Director.
